Covid-19 Safe System of Work

Rotronics COVID-19 Safe workplace operating process to minimise the risk to Employees

It is the responsibility of each and every member of staff, to take ownership for their own and colleagues wellbeing and safety, to reduce the risk of contamination within the organisation.

  •  Staff MUST wherever possible maintain a safe working distance of two metres
  • Individuals MUST adopt and ensure that washing of hands takes place at regular intervals and is carried out in-line with Government guidelines of the “20 second rule”.
  • Staff entering or leaving the building MUST clean hands when entering and leaving the building, using the hand sanitiser, which is placed at the front entrance of the premises.
  • It will be the responsibility of a “designated” member of the H&S team to ensure, door handles and areas of regular contact, are sanitised and cleaned at the start and end of each working day.

Each workstation MUST be cleansed two times per day.

  • Before commencing work 0830hrs
  • At the end of each working day
  • This should include Keyboards, phones and areas of regular contact in and around the workstation environment.
  • Each workstation must be kept tidy, and clutter free
  • It will be the responsibility of each employee to clean their own workstation.
  • Each employee will be issued the appropriate cleaning and sanitising materials to perform this task.

Rest Room & Kitchen areas
Only one person is to be in this area at any one time.

  • This includes the use of the toilets
  • Any cups/crockery used, must be cleaned and placed away after use.
  • All surface areas MUST be kept clutter free from items, to aid effective cleaning.
  • The use of hand dryers is not permitted, and paper towels are to be used instead, and placed in the bins provided, after use.

Warehouse area
A one-way system is in place, and should be adopted by all individuals entering the warehouse. In addition, where possible keeping to the two metre safe distance rule should be applied.

Service & Repair area
Two metre safe distance areas have been marked within the workshop area, and MUST be adhered to at all times.

  • Where possible, the sharing of equipment should be avoided.
  • Where this is not possible, equipment MUST be sanitised, after each use.
  • A maximum of two members of staff to be in this area at any one time.

Symptoms of Covid-19
Should any member of staff show signs of Covid-19, they must isolate themselves immediately, and follow the guidance notes contained within ROH emergency measures policy, attached to this document.
