ROBIS WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY LAUNCH

Rotronics is delighted to launch the industry-first Rotronics Online Battery Information System, ROBIS, with new wireless connectivity for commercial vehicle and retail customers, which will provide live battery performance data with instant visible results. With proven return on investment, ROBIS reduces non-starts and roadside defects, which will save workshops considerable funds and significantly improve their fleet performance and battery budgets.

The new wireless connectivity allows retail and fleet workshop managers and head office fleet teams to analyse their vehicle and battery testing output, without the previous manual download of the SD card from the battery tester. This means that instant data is visible on the personalised ROBIS dashboard, test results cannot be falsified in any way, there is no wait time to receive battery data and our ROBIS experts can instantly detect faulty equipment or incorrect use of the testing technology in any workshop or retail-testing environment.

In the event of a vehicle battery defect, the new wireless ROBIS portal can determine whether there was any unactioned work that should have been carried out and was missed or, in the case of retail applications, what sales conversion opportunity exits to those converted into sales. This ensures that management teams have under-the-microscope analysis of their teams’ activities and battery management practices and will know how many tests are being carried out by technicians and sales staff daily, aiding workshop compliance. Workshop managers will be able to immediately track the number of daily vehicle inspections against the number of battery tests performed.

Warranty claims processes can be instantly submitted, as they happen, without the usual laborious paperwork. All warranty claims previously rested on a printer report from the handheld battery tester – this can now all be done online.

The new wireless ROBIS technology enables the Rotronics team to work with customers throughout the world and this means that ROBIS is now a global proposition, offering customers the same instant online results, regardless of location.

Ken Clark, Managing Director of Rotronics, says: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to completely change the capability of battery management technology with our launch of wireless ROBIS – this is an industry game-changer and will save considerable sums of money. Our customers will be able to extract and create weekly charging schedules against those vehicles tested that require charging and they can compare non-start defects against latest routine maintenance tests. Retail users can now identify sales opportunity versus conversion rates achieved, maximising sales output and trend analysis. “We know from our customers that being able to validate their warranty claims instantly and online is going to be vital as those reports can be easily lost and have an extremely high value – for OE customers this can be in the region of £500. We know from our customers that these test machine reports are frequently lost.”

Customer Testimonial “We see that ROBIS is an essential too9l in supporting our workshop battery maintenance and charging practices, within our planned maintenance procedures. The portal gives us visibility of what our workshops are doing and how this affects the reliability of our fleet.” Steve Morris, Technical Engineering Manager, Stagecoach Group
