We recently exhibited at the Mechanex Show in Sandown Park, supported on stand by Tony Zeal, Global Training Manager at CTEK.

We showcased the latest battery diagnostic and charging technology from Midtronics and CTEK, including the Midtronics DCA8000 Diagnostic Charging System, the CPX900 battery tester, and Lithium Enabled Smart Chargers from CTEK.

The Mechanex Show is Back

The Mechanex Show is a UK tradeshow for the automotive repair industry, independent workshops, and automotive aftermarket suppliers. The show made its name as the only event available for independent workshops in the UK. Automotive professionals now gather annually to network, explore the latest industry trends and news, and share the latest aftermarket technology. Rotronics were joined at the show by a variety of leading automotive businesses, which can be found here.

This was the first Mechanex Show to be held in over two years due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, so we were very keen to get involved. The automotive industry is so hands on, so it has definitely felt strange to be unable to speak to our customers and suppliers in person for this long.

Managing Director Ken Clark said “Although the footfall of the event was much quieter than we have seen in previous years, the quality of engagement from visitors was much higher. People were clearly excited to be out and about, networking with other technicians, managers and suppliers and taking a look at the latest technology available.”

We spoke to a range of visitors at the event, including independent workshop managers, technicians, engineers, directors, and aftermarket suppliers, and they all mentioned how fantastic it was to be back networking in person, speaking about the latest trends and technology over the past two years.

At the event

We provided demonstrations of ROBIS, our web-based battery management dashboard and reporting system that works 365 days a year, as your cheapest workshop supervisor ever. ROBIS benefits independent workshops by providing a comprehensive overview of every battery test conducted throughout the workshop, aiding management, and process improvements. We now have over 4.6 million recorded test results on ROBIS.

We also demonstrated leading battery diagnostic equipment and chargers from Midtronics and CTEK, including the CPX900, the DCA8000, and Lithium Enabled Smart Chargers. It’s important for us to attend events like the Mechanex Show to demonstrate battery management equipment and technology such as ROBIS. The more battery management information and technology is shared amongst the automotive industry, the more vehicles leave the workshop starting first time, without a risk of breakdowns due to battery related faults. This creates higher long-term company reputations, and customers are more likely to return to the garage for a future service, providing further revenue generating opportunities.
