xMB-9640 Module Balancer

xMB-9640

Ensure EV battery pack performance and longevity with Midtronics latest EV Innovation, xMB-9640 Module Balancer. Available to all aftermarket service centres.

With around 1.5 million electric vehicles now on the road in the UK, and growing, aftermarket workshops have long wanted a solution for servicing EV’s other than checking general wear and tear parts. Servicing an EV’s main battery pack sounds like a technical and complex task, however xMB-9640 makes EV servicing simple and requires little training to become fully capable.

What is a module balancer and why do I need one? The main ‘propulsion’ battery in EV’s is a large pack made up of lots of smaller batteries called modules. All of the modules need to perform at the same rate and have a similar state of health. If even one module is performing poorly, the overall pack capacity can decrease dramatically resulting in reduced range and performance.

xMB-9640 makes the module balancing process effortless. Simply connect the High Voltage Cables and input the requested information on xMB’s crisp touchscreen display and let xMB handle the rest. Each module will be tested to check voltage level and state of health, often if a pack hasn’t been regularly serviced the modules will be out of balance, meaning they are all at different voltages. xMB will automatically either charge or discharge each individual module to ensure the whole pack is ‘balanced’ to restore optimal performance to the overall pack

Workshop mobility is key. XMB-9640 can be fitted to  a mobile trolley, allowing you maximum flexibility to service EV battery packs conveniently.
