Advanced Diagnostics

CPX-900 offers you a clear picture of battery health that you’ve never had before. Midtronics advanced Conductance Profiling technology offers increased decisiveness which reduces the likelihood of receiving a ‘Charge and Re-Test’ decision. This allows you to diagnose and maintain batteries more efficiently without extra unnecessary workload.

Complete Battery Analysis

The 3.5” colour display allows much more information to be displayed compared to previous Midtronics models. Easily understand battery diagnostic results with clear actionable descriptions. Results include overall test decision, cranking health report and reserve health report.

Dynamic Service Experience

Modernise your testing experience. Fitted with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth you can eliminate the need for small, hard to read print outs. Connect your tester to Wi-Fi to be able to receive future software updates and send test results via email. CPX is ROBIS compatible, find out more here!

Detailed Test Results

See more than just Cold Cranking Amp test results. CPX-900 uses its built in 10A load to determine whether the battery can not only start the vehicle but also see if it can support the vehicle over a longer period of time. Each test result comes with a easy to follow decision.

Very little training is needed to operate a conductance-based battery tester. We typically recommend you understand the battery application (12v/24v set), what type of battery you’re testing (Flooded/EFB/AGM), and what the rated value of the battery is (1000amps/550amps etc) before a battery test, to make sure test results are accurate.
Batteries should always be tested on the battery terminals if possible. In cases where the battery terminals are not accessible, you can test on the jump post instead, but this will not provide the most accurate test result. If a battery replace decision is received, it should be verified through testing on the battery terminals, as internal resistance may produce a misdiagnosis.
Midtronics battery testers are unique with their temperature sensor feature, which is designed to improve the accuracy of a battery test result. Most battery testers simply ask if a battery is above or below 0°C to take into account performance dips. A true temperature reading improves the accuracy of a test result, whilst also providing a good sense of whether there’s a fault with the battery tester itself.
Conductance-based testers do not do damage to batteries or discharge them during the test process. They offer a safe testing environment for technicians, irrespective of battery condition. However, older style Load testers can cause the risk of injury to the user through risk of igniting expelled gases from the battery. Furthermore, every time they are used, they discharge the battery.
No. battery testers can currently only test lead-acid batteries.
CPX-900 can test a battery in under 2 minutes
The ROBIS test report provides more explanation of the test results and makes it easier to understand by using a ‘traffic light’ system to explain battery condition.
Batteries can have strong cranking health but poor reserve capacity (RC) health. RC measurements indicate how long a vehicle with a normal electrical load will run with a broken alternator or fan belt. There is no reliable correlation between normal conductance test results and RC results. The traditional conductance measurement is expanded by applying a small load for 60 seconds. The battery's response to this load is compared to profiles of batteries with RC issues. This forms the basis of Midtronics Conductance Profiling (CP) technology.
