Designed for Heavy-Duty Applications

Testing batteries in a 24V set presents specific challenges for fleet/commercial workshops to overcome. EXP-1000FHD uses advanced, unique testing algorithms to not only determine the health of each 12V battery but to also show you the health of the combined 24V set, which is critical for battery pack reliability and longevity.

24V Features

Ensure that both 12V batteries are working together ‘in balance’ to improve efficiency and longevity. EXP-1000FHD will test each 12V battery individually to identify their state of charge and health, if either of the batteries are in a different state to the other it will recommend charging and replacement.
Use EXP-10000 FHD to test whether 2 x 12V batteries can be paired together. Use the ‘Generate Pair’ function to perform a test on the batteries before fitment to determine their individual and pack health.

Reporting & Auditing

For auditing and performance improvement purposes, most fleet companies require workshops to record testing data. EXP-1000 FHD assists workshops with this by allowing technicians to record User ID, depot information and fleet/VIN numbers. This data can either be recorded to the SD Card, by printing (optional High Speed Printer) or by using our industry-leading ROBIS cloud-based reporting and compliance system.

System Testing

Occasionally, the battery might not be the issue. By conducting a system test, you can gather detailed information about the starter system, alternator, and diodes. The process is straightforward as the tester will guide you through easy-to-follow steps.

EXP1000FHD battery tester is currently the only battery management equipment available that can test whether a 24v battery set is in balance, by measuring the voltage, cranking amps, and internal resistance of both batteries.
Very little training is needed to operate a conductance-based battery tester. We typically recommend you understand the battery application (12v/24v set), what type of battery you’re testing (Flooded/EFB/AGM), and what the rated value of the battery is (1000amps/550amps etc) before a battery test, to make sure test results are accurate.
Most battery testers simply ask if a battery is above or below 0°C to take into account performance dips. A true temperature reading improves the accuracy of a test result, whilst also providing a good sense of whether there’s a fault with the battery tester itself.
Currently you can only use an Amp Clamp with an EXP1000FHD battery tester – giving the increased benefit of measuring battery drains and supporting the overall accuracy of a full system test if required.
No. battery testers can currently only test lead-acid batteries.
Depending on your particular business you will get a rapid return on your investment. Some of the areas where you can get returns is from extended battery life, reduced costs associated with battery replacement, more reliability from fleet vehicles. If you’re an automotive workshop you can identify battery replacement opportunities and increase customer satisfaction and retention too.
Old style load testers could cause damage due to high current discharge but Midtronics works using unique conductance technology that uses low energy to read the battery condition and provide accurate results with no chance of damage to the battery.
